Signal wiring for machine construction
In the detailed engineering of remote control systems, the coordination and interaction of initiators, actuators and the connectivity used for distribution is an essential factor. As a rule, limited space is available for the electrical installation. Equipment is also often located in places with limited access, for instance in local terminal boxes.
Initiator-actuator terminal block with PUSH IN technology (AIO)
Unlike conventional wiring solutions, the initiator-actuator terminal blocks AIO offer a high wiring density with up to 4 different potentials on a single terminal block measuring just 3.5 mm wide. That way you benefit from enormous space savings and signal feed-in flexibility.

Connecting pre-assembled functional units in power generation
Local automation concepts are now the solution of choice. Modularity also determines the engineering in machinery and plant engineering. After all, modularity increases efficiency and thus contributes decisively to cutting costs. When it comes to modular automation concepts, usually the different system elements are not developed and produced entirely in-house; they come from different partner companies too. The final commissioning must be fast and convenient. Pluggability is an important criterion here.
Pluggable terminal blocks
Our application solution with pluggable terminal blocks reduces the planning overhead from the outset. Equipped with a PUSH IN connection on one side and holders for one or two codable connectors on the other, the system enables support points to be set up in the tightest of spaces to provide rapid wiring.
The terminal types are designed in such a way that the plug-in direction of the connectors is the same, which is especially beneficial during pre-assembly, as only the order of the connections must be observed. In different systems, it is also necessary to consider into which side of the modular terminal the connector has to be plugged into later on.
An externally sprung contact and locking elements guarantee that the connector is positioned in the terminal block in a shock-, vibration- and shake-proof fashion. The solution is thus ideally suited for use in machine and system construction, process technology, marine vessel and rail vehicle construction, as well as wind energy, whereby constant connections guarantee lasting energy yield.
DCS marshalling in process control systems
Increasingly complex requirements for automation processes and increasing demands in terms of monitoring and recording operational data have led to an ever-increasing number of sensors in the field for process technology. This presents planning engineers with new challenges to overcome: on the one hand, additional signals for automation need to be connected and processed; on the other, additional space usually means higher costs.
Marshalling terminal blocks with PUSH IN technology (PRV)
The PRV terminal blocks have been designed and optimised specially for DCS marshalling in process control engineering with up to 16 connection levels.
In planning, you benefit from unique, space-optimised design, which also results in a considerably higher signal density than conventional solutions. The PUSH IN connection ensures that you successfully prevent wiring errors and do not require any special tools for rewiring. The coloured matrix structure allows customers to benefit from clear orientation and, in turn, error-free signal assignment when completing extension and maintenance work.
DCS marshalling in process control systems with fusing
In process engineering and power generation control systems, terminal blocks are the solution of choice for connecting and distributing initiator-actuator signals. Traditional field connections with fuses used to require three different terminal blocks: one feed-through terminal, a fuse or disconnect terminal, as well as a PE terminal or a copper rail to connect the shielding. An enormous amount of space was therefore needed for the DCS marshalling.
Marshalling terminal blocks with clamping yoke connection (WMF)
Our multifunctional terminal block family combines the functions of feed-through, fuse and disconnect terminals in a single system. Thanks to the integrated PE or shield connection, the WMF terminal block replaces an additional PE terminal and does away with the need for a separate installation for the shield connection. With a space requirement of just 10 mm per signal circuit, you save a great deal of installation space on the terminal rail.
The fuse holder with pivoted lever facilitates convenient fuse replacement and is fitted with an optional LED circuit which clearly signals that the fuse has been tripped.
Secure power distribution for wagon-to-wagon couplings
A permanent train connection requires a simple installation that is both robust and reliable over its working life. The installation is, however, often completed at other geographical locations and across language barriers. All of which calls for simple solutions which are also fault-tolerant and safe.
Bulkhead connector with ST 4000 stud terminals
With our ST 4000 stud terminals (4 kV) we provide a modular system. The ring cable lug connection system, which is a proven railway technology, is also recognised around the world as being extremely easy to use. The weather-resistant terminals made from epoxy resin are designed for all power lines up to 240 mm² and 4 kV, and as such can be used in all applications.
Motor connection in a confined space
Connections in the vicinity of the motors are subjected to particularly severe conditions: high vibration and shocks, as well as dust, water and extreme climatic stresses. In addition, 3-phase asynchronous motors and their junction boxes are located on bogies during assembly. This leaves little room for convenient installation or dismantling.
